Uitkoms Guest Farm offers peaceful and tranquil self-catering accommodation in the Kalahari. ‘Uitkoms’ means ‘breakaway’ in Afrikaans, and the house is situated 10 km from the Witsand Nature Reserve, among the Kalahari bushveld and camel thorn trees. Uitkoms Guest Farm is ideal for travellers looking to experience a farm-lifestyle and the silence of the Kalahari.
Accommodation is offered in a three-bedroom farmhouse that can accommodate up to six guests. The house is fully equipped for self-catering. A 4x4 vehicle is required in order to reach the house. Enjoy beautiful views of the dunes of the nearby Witsand Nature Reserve
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a wood-stove. Hot water is supplied by a donkey-geyser. Guests can keep themselves busy in the games room which contains a table tennis table.

Things to do: Game room, Horse riding (on prior notice), to take part in daily farm activities and walking. Make use of a 4x4 Route on a nearby farm for the more adventurous. Day visitors to the Witsand Nature Reserve(www.witsandkalahari.co.za) can make use of facilities such as; picnicking (braai), kiosk, Botanical Meander, swimming pool, sand boarding, bird watching and game viewing.

Self-catering guest house with three sleeping rooms, one bathroom with a bath, a toilet, and well equipped kitchen with an old time wood stove. No electricity. Lights powered by Solar energy, warm water produced by “donkey”. Oil and gas lanterns and heaters supplied. Huge “store room” with gas fridge, table tennis, dart board, storage bins, and built-in braai. Firewood supplied. Drinking water provided in containers. Sandy roads may require 4x4 vehicle.
No visible features other than the external doors that can lock. Far from any public road and difficult to reach due to sandy jeep tracks and farm gates. Guest house is 5km from owners’ house.
Absolutely safe with no crime incidents to mention.
Birding, bush walks, self-drive on farm, game viewing, trees, plants, star gazing. Horse riding available on request. Animal rehabilitation centre. Interior games with table tennis and darts. Cycling not possible due to sandy roads. Witsand Nature Reserve very close for 4x4 routes, dune riding, game viewing, hiking and cycling.
Extensive Bonsmara cattle, Dorper and Kalahari Red goats with saddle horses to assist. Miniature horse stud. Breeding Staffordshire Bullterrier dogs.
Value for money
The house is booked as a unit, sleeping 6 adults comfortably. Rates are below market averages and offer excellent value for money.
